Jameelah Bowden, formerly Miss London NABA 2013 and Miss NABA 2013, has won a place in the prestigious United Kingdom Power Pageant Grand Final, and is this year’s Miss London International 2016. Based in West London, this Filipina beauty queen has been taking part in pageants since the age of thirteen and is keen to win an opportunity of a lifetime, and fulfil a childhood dream: to represent the United Kingdom on an international stage.

“I am so excited to be a finalist in The United Kingdom Power Pageant finals. Being able to represent London has been an absolute dream and has opened so many opportunities for me - especially volunteering and charity work. As Miss London International, my main advocacy is to encourage more people to take part in volunteer or charity work in their local area. There are so many opportunities available - especially through Team London - to help a wide variety of local causes. Volunteering, for me, is always incredibly rewarding and I hope to inspire the people of London to do the same.” Jameelah beams.

The grand final will be held on July 10th at the Park Hall Hotel, Lancashire. Young women from across the country will compete for a wide range of titles. In total, there will be eight winners crowned at the event: Miss International UK, Miss Intercontinental England, Scotland and Wales, World Supermodel UK and Miss Grand England, Scotland and Wales. The winners will go on to represent their countries in the international finals, where they will meet women from all over the world and have an experience of a lifetime!

“In the background, I aim to blog my entire experience as people have always asked me what goes on behind the scenes. On the 26th June, I will be walking from Boston Manor to the O2 Greenwich as a part of my ‘Great Walk’ to raise money for The Christie. It’s a six hour walk, and my aim is to be able to talk to people on my journey and raise more awareness about The Christie and all the fantastic work they do. I cannot wait to share this journey with everyone and I hope, in some way, they find my blog entertaining, inspiring or eye-opening.” Jameelah adds.

AURA Elite International are excited to support and follow Jameelah's path to the crown!

Now in its sixth year, Miss London NABA is ready to raise the bar yet again with their fierce catwalks and creative choreography. Ten stunning candidates are vying for the coveted title and on Saturday 16th April, London will witness the crowning of Miss London NABA 2016 and Miss London NABA Entrepreneur 2016.

Miss London NABA 2016 will represent England and compete in New York during the labour day weekend in America, while Miss London NABA Entrepreneur 2016 (the candidate who raises the most money for charity) will win a return ticket to the Philippines to further promote the pageant and the chosen charity. The coronation night will be held in the traditional venue at The Camden Centre in Kings Cross, where the pageant has been held for the past six years.

For the very first time, as a part of their prize, AURA Elite International Magazine- a publication bridging the Philippines to World Culture with iconic covers, will feature this year’s Miss London NABA winner and Miss London NABA Entrepreneur in the magazine with an exclusive interview about the whole pageant experience. Editor-in-Chief Dee Chanelle says “AURA Elite International is excited to feature these girls particularly because they go on to compete at an International level. AURA Elite International’s mission is to provide a platform for Filipinos to be seen and heard worldwide specially through digital media as the magazine is now accessible via the Apple and Google stores! We will be releasing a complimentary mini issue of the magazine highlighting pageantry which Filipinos love”

While rehearsals are well under way, the production team have been working hard to prepare the candidates for the show. Phil Panganiban, Creative Director, says: “We strive to out-do ourselves every year, so we make sure we bring fresh ideas to the table and always look to improve the candidate's journey. I believe this might be our strongest year yet especially as we have introduced previous winners as mentors to our candidates.”

Three previous winners were selected to help mentor the candidates throughout their Miss London NABA journey: Erika Federis, Jameelah Bowden and Khristine Bautista. Erika Federis is the reigning winner in two countries as she was crowned Miss London NABA in April2015 and again as Miss NABA in Canada during the labour day weekend in 2015. This is the second time London has been able to take home the international title since Jameelah Bowden won Miss NABA 2013 in Canada.

Delighted to be on the mentoring team, Erika Federi said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for us, as previous winners, to give the girls our advice and let them in on our pageant tips and secrets. It’s great to see so many winners and runners up wanting to get stuck in and volunteer to make the show an incredible one. This is what makes Miss London NABA so special to all of us - it feels like a family and we’ve all become such close friends because of it.”

The chosen charity for Miss London NABA 2016 is “Daan Para Sa Kabataan Foundation Inc.” which aims to liberate children and families towards a transformed Christian community through the access to education, integrated health interventions, livelihood opportunities and spiritual guidance.

Micah Lee, Miss London NABA Entrepreneur 2015 says: “I was ecstatic to win Miss London NABA Entrepreneur as fundraising is an activity I relish in; I enjoy being able to help local communities and give back to those who are less fortunate. My reign has opened up many opportunities for me and I wish the best for all the girls competing this year.”

The creative and production team would like to invite the local community and all pageant fans to the sixth coronation night of Miss London NABA on Saturday 16th April at The Camden Centre, Judd Street, Kings Cross, London WC1H 9JE. For more information on Miss London NABA visit their Facebook page: facebook.com/Miss.LondonNABA. Tickets are £12 in advance and £15 on the door.
