Asia’s Romantic Balladeer Christian Bautista was thrilled to spend the weekend with the Kapuso abroad in the United Kingdom via the Summer Filipino Festival.

Held last August 3 and 4 at Lancing Beach Green in West Sussex, Christian serenaded the Kapuso abroad with timeless hits like “The Way You Look at Me” and “Ligaya” by Eraserheads. The entire crowd sang along beautifully that the Kapuso star decided to come down from the stage to join them.

The two-day event was made even merrier when Christian had an exclusive meet and greet with all the attendees. He also signed the record albums brought by his Pinoy fans. After bonding with the Kapuso abroad, he headed to West End, London to watch Hamilton. Backstage, Christian met his fellow singer and international musical theatre actress and friend, Rachelle Ann Go.

“Nagpapasalamat po ako sa lahat ng nag-attend ng Summer Filipino Fiesta sa UK. Salamat sa inyong pagmamahal at suporta especially sa mga naka-appreciate ng OPM songs na kinanta natin. Sana magkita-kita tayo ulit. Sigurado marami pang pine-prepare ang GMA Pinoy TV at Mavshack in the coming months. Thank you so much for coming and God bless you!” says Christian.

The Summer Filipino Fiesta, organized by KMF Events Limited in partnership with GMA Pinoy TV, is the biggest and longest running Pinoy festivity in Sussex with over 2,000 attendees from the Filipino-British community. The grand beach party was filled with family fun, games, live music, cultural performances, and raffle prizes for everyone.

KMF Events Limited’s Chairman Ron Albano likewise expressed how grateful they were to have Christian and to have experienced his show-stopping performance during the festival. “A big thank you to GMA Pinoy TV for bringing Christian Bautista to Summer Filipino Fiesta. It was great seeing the Filipino community get together for the weekend and their excitement was so contagious during the performance of Asia’s Romantic Balladeer. I’ve been receiving a lot of positive comments and messages of appreciation about Christian’s performance. Everyone had a great time and it was truly an event to remember.”

The characters of Kathryn Bernardo and Alden Richards faces a dilemma that will either make or break the life they have long planned in the upcoming Star Cinema film, “Hello, Love, Goodbye”

Love and career are two of the important things that most people consider in making major decisions in their lives. Most generations were asked which they prioritize and often their answers vary—but what does the younger generation get to say about this topic?

TFC asked two young overseas Filipinos to answer the question “what will you choose, love or career? Why?”

Snooky, 27, from Japan, chose career. She explains: “Love can come anytime, while you have to build your career from scratch until you reap what you sow. Also, frankly speaking, nowadays there is a bigger chance to find an ideal partner once you are financially stable. It makes me feel happier and satisfied to attain my personal goals in life first before settling down.”

On the other hand, Bianca, 28, from Canada chose love over career. “I’ll choose love because this will make me the happiest. I feel that love can give me the more genuine kind of happiness, while my career is only fulfilling the ambitious side of me. Love is a complete package even in its simplest form,” she explained.

This is the dilemma that the characters of Kathryn Bernardo and Alden Richards are facing in the Star Cinema film “Hello, Love Goodbye”, written by Carmi Raymundo and under the direction of the multi-awarded and blockbuster director Cathy Garcia-Molina.

Joy (Kathryn) and Ethan (Alden) are two overseas Filipinos in Hong Kong with different goals in life. Joy is a domestic helper who is determined to do everything to have a better life, compared to the life she had as a child. While Ethan is a bartender who is building a permanent life in Hong Kong but has always been afraid of commitments.

In the process of getting to know each other, Joy and Ethan also discover new things about themselves, which could possibly affect the plans they have with their respective lives.

“Hello, Love, Goodbye” marks the first time that two of the prime stars today from Philippines’ media giants, ABS-CBN and GMA, are working on one project that tackles the lives of the overseas Filipinos.

“I appreciate the OFW more after seeing how hard their life is,” Kathryn said about portraying the life of an overseas Filipino. “In Hong Kong, they live a fast-phased life because they need to save. This movie opened me to different things and experiences that I can say made me whole. I salute the OFWs.”

On the other hand, Alden shared a bit what the audiences will expect in watching the film. “With this movie, the audience will see the struggles and the good side of being an OFW. Also, they will see how they evolved from the usual OFW whose only concern is the welfare of their family into someone who also thinks of their self,” he said.

Also part of the film are Maymay Entrata, Jameson Blake, Joross Gamboa, Kakai Bautista, Lovely Abella, and Jeffrey Tam.

Get a glimpse on the life of the overseas Filipinos and how it has changed over the years via the film “Hello, Love, Goodbye” as it screens in the different regions on these dates: August 1 in Papua New Guinea; August 2 in Saipan and Guam; August 4 in Norway; August 8 in the Middle East, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, and Brunei; August 9 in the U.S., Canada, and Tel Aviv, Israel; August 10 and 11 in United Kingdom; August 11 in Ireland, France, Austria, Italy, Malta, and Taiwan; August 18 in Hong Kong; August 23 in Malaysia; September 1 in Spain and Japan; September 9 in Greece; September 28 and 29 in South Korea; and coming soon in Indonesia, Myanmar, Thailand, and Vietnam.

Also catch the premiere happening on August 5 in the U.S. with Kathryn Bernardo, while it will be Kathryn Bernardo and Alden Richards who will grace the premieres in Dubai on August 9, in Abu Dhabi on August 10, and in Singapore on August 18. There will also be a special screening on August 25 in Cambodia.

Starstruck II alumna and Miss World 2013 Megan Young remains a loyal Kapuso as she renewed last February 8 her exclusive contract with GMA Network, Inc.

The beauty queen and versatile Kapuso actress and TV Host said that she is very happy to renew her ties with GMA, “Of course, dito ako sa GMA nagsimula so it’s nice to be here with my family. Last year, naging busy talaga ako dahil sa The Stepdaughters. I’m really thankful to GMA for giving us a program that would showcase our talent. This year, I’m looking forward to something different. I don’t mind doing another Afternoon series kasi nag-enjoy ako. But I’m also looking forward to hosting jobs this year.”

Present in the contract signing were GMA Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Atty. Felipe L. Gozon, GMA Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Felipe S. Yalong, GMA Entertainment Group's Senior Vice President Lilybeth G. Rasonable, GMA Senior Assistant Vice President for Alternative Productions Gigi Santiago-Lara, and Arnold Vegafria, Megan’s manager.

Megan’s last program with GMA was the highly-successful and top-rating Afternoon Prime series The Stepdaughters with Mikael Daez and Katrina Halili. This time around, she wants try light dramas and romantic comedies for her next project.

“Ang gusto ko talaga yung mga romcom. Pero never pa ako nakagawa ng ganito. Hilig ko talaga yung mga Koreanovela. So that’s kind of my dream. I know some people aspire for heavy roles pero ako I love the lightness and endearing moments of Koreanovelas. So maybe a story like that is something I look forward to. I also love anime na gagawing live action. I’ve never done anything like that.”

During the contract signing, Atty. Gozon shared that he is delighted with the new chapter of Megan’s life in GMA, “Si Megan naman, hindi lang siya isa sa pinakamagagandang artista natin dito. Kaya tayo ay natutuwa na siya ay nag-renew uli ng kontrata sa atin sapagkat sa tingin ko, malayo pa ang mararating niya sa showbiz.”

Rasonable, on the other hand, revealed that the Network is already gearing up for Megan’s next big projects in the Kapuso Station, “Siyempre iniisipan na natin siya ng susunod niyang soap. Kasi di ba very successful ang The Stepdaughters na almost one year na tumakbo. So happy tayo sa performance niya dun. She showed na magaling siya sa drama. Ang layo na ng inimprove niya from before. So we want to do more of that. And yes, she’s also a good host.”
