Eleven-year-old Joshua Oliveros, dubbed “Hopeful Son ng Antique,” won the 3rd Grand Championship of singing reality show “The Voice Kids’” final showdown on August 28, Sunday, which aired via and TFC IPTV.

He bested Antonetthe Tismo of Team Sharon and Justin Alva of Team Bamboo in the program’s final showdown, after garnering 38.07% of votes from the viewers.

On Saturday’s performance, August 27, everyone was impressed by his performance of “Mangarap Ka” during the upbeat song rounds, and his performance with Coach Lea Salonga of the song “Nais Ko” during the duet round. During the final stage competition, he captivated the viewers during the power ballad rounds with his performance of “Salamat,” an original hit by Yeng Constantino.

Oliveros was Coach Lea’s first kid artist winner of the competition. But more than anything, he was happy to be able to win the house for his family because his father just took the risk, brought him to Manila to join the auditions, without a home to live in nor a job to sustain them.

He took home P1 million cash, a fashion package and P1 million worth of trust fund from a clothing brand, a two-year recording contract from MCA Music, Inc., a business package from a local franchisee, and a house and lot from a real estate company.

“I’m very happy because I got the house, the money, and the trophy,” he emotionally said during an interview after the competition. “This will be a very big help to my family,” he added.

Coach Lea, the only coach who turned around for Joshua during blind audition, has nothing but good words for Joshua, who she admired for his discipline and dedication in the competition.

“You don’t have to worry about this boy, because he listens, he delivers, he’s wonderful. He digests the music before it comes out of his mouth. Talagang nakikinig sa rehearsals, very focused,” she said. She then thanked everyone who believed and supported her artist.

The third season of “The Voice Kids,” hosted by Luis Manzano, Kim Chiu, and Robi Domingo, was a phenomenal hit on Philippine television and was the most watched weekend TV program in the country during its run.

Viewers nationwide also tuned it to the two-night final showdown as it garnered a national TV rating of 39% last Saturday (Aug 27) and 43.3% last Sunday (Aug 28), according to data from Kantar Media (local TV ratings measurement).

Can’t get enough of the winning performance of “The Voice Kids” Season 3 grand champion Joshua Oliveros? Get to watch the final battle between him and the other young artists helmed by Coach Sharon, Coach Bamboo and Coach Lea via and TFC IPTV and which will be available until September 28.

Joshua, meantime, will be seen with his fellow young artists performing at the Resorts World Manila Newport Performing Arts Theater in a special show titled “Meron Akong Kwento: Ang Himig ng Buhay Ko” featuring guests Aegis, Jaya, Jessa Zaragoza, Jovit Baldivino, Dominador “Daddy D” Alviola Jr., and Bugoy Drilon. The special will be available for 30 days starting August 30, on and TFC IPTV.
